Self-Esteem
Therapy Specialties
Many aspects of our lives can affect our confidence and self-esteem. At B&B Well Counseling, we believe a relationship built between a client and their therapist is central to someone’s success in treatment. It allows a client to feel comfortable in sessions which allows them to open up and make real change. The alliance built between us and our clients gives them the confidence needed to help their self-esteem grow.
Working on Your Self-Esteem in Therapy
Benefits
Identifying the Source
Low self-esteem has roots in the past and the present. With a therapist, clients are guided to learn and understand the source of their insecurities alongside patterns that may need attention.
Recognizing Critical Voices
While working with a therapist, clients can learn to recognize negative self-talk and the critical voices of those around them, and then learn strategies to deal with the negativity.
Changing Patterns & Mindset
As therapy continues and patterns emerge that tank someone’s self-esteem, clients become motivated to change their mindset which creates more room for self-compassion and positive outcomes.

What Does Strengths Perspective Mean?
You might see Strengths Perspective frequently on this site as it’s one of the modalities used in therapy at B&B Well Counseling. It’s an approach with roots in social work that puts the strengths and resources of people, communities, and their environments at the center of the helping process instead of the problem.
Strength-based approaches are often used in positive psychology to focus on a person’s strengths and resourcefulness rather than their weaknesses and failure. It can help our clients start building a positive mindset that reminds them of their resiliency and positive self-attributes. Additionally, when we use Strengths Perspective in therapy, it allows our clients to remain the expert on themselves and see how strong they truly are, which can build their confidence.
