Assertiveness Training
Therapy Specialties
At B&B Well Counseling, we noticed a trend with our clients — especially women who are people-pleasers and struggle with boundaries — that they will use passive or passive-aggressive communication to avoid conflict. We help women with assertive communication which can help improve their relationships and their self-esteem.
How It Works
Assertiveness Training
Education
Assertive communication training starts with education and knowing the differences between passive, assertive, and aggressive communication. Negative thoughts will also be challenged.
Challenging Beliefs
Clients practice the skill of speaking assertively in therapy. CBT is often incorporated to challenge the client’s core beliefs about themselves and how they relate to the world.
Strength Building
Assertiveness training isn’t just for learning assertive communication, it can help clients see their strengths and weaknesses so they can hone their skills that improve their overall well-being.

How We Help Clients
Assert Themselves
❖ Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
❖ Solution-Based Therapy
There are times when clients come to B&B Well Counseling knowing they want to work on assertive communication but that isn’t always the case. Sometimes people have no idea this is something they struggle with until they start therapy. Either way, assertiveness training can help someone see themselves in a better light while also improving their overall wellbeing.
